And he resurfaces...

So my boy Milo has just been recently spotted in a T-Mobile commercial. It's the one where he has a heavy number chained around his ankle and then he jumps over the fence. You've probably seen it if you were watching the Average Joe finale. (Which, btw, was such a disappointment. I thought for SURE she was going to pick Adam. Poor adam.)

Milo milo....commercials? What happened to your own show? Not to say that you're not looking faboo in the commercial....but, just need more of ya...yknow, closeups and whatnot.

On a different note: goodluck to those of you out there taking your finals. It's almost over!

That is all.

Man......

Where are the girls of #15 when you need them for some good ass slapping? I get these urges to whack someone hard on the ass, but no one's ass is within reaching distance.
Those ass slapping days.....those were the days...

It's gone. My webpage is gone. You click on it, and it doesn't go there. No, it does not go there, it does not go anywhere. It does not go to my page, and its all very strange.

Today at work, my job was to clean the trophy case with my roommate. The trophy case that houses the oscars, emmies, and golden globes. Funny how an enclosed case can gather so much dust and bugs and bug poop. Because we had to take the trophies out of the case and line them up on the floor, all the people passing by had to put their two cents in. If i had a dollar for everytime someone came by and asked, "are those real?" and "can i touch them?" well.....i'd have $20 by now, thats what! (And yes, feel free to turn that last sentence into a dirty joke if you will.)

But the highlight of the day was when Cojo came over to the case and asked if he could touch them too but then decided that he wasn't going to because touching one means you're not going to win one. I guess i've just jinxed myself for the rest of my life! I don't know what it is about cojo that i like so much. Maybe its his fashion foward sensibilities.
Yes, that must be it.
And his hair.

Dear Internet Void:

Why do people do the things they do?

No, start over.

Where do people get their ways of thinking from? Why is it that a conceited person doesn't know they're conceited, yet someone else does and can tell the that person to their face that they're conceited, and the first person will never believe it.

No, not quite.

Dear Internet Void: Why can't we turn back time, and redo the things we've done wrong? Some may say, you learn from your mistakes. Sure. So if you've learned, shouldn't you be able to go back in time and fix whatever you messed up?

Like tonight, i was making these s'mores bars, and silly me, i didn't let the chocolate cool enough before putting in the marshmellows, so then all the marshmellows melted in with the chocolate, which it wasn't suppose to do. Right after this happened, I learned my mistake, that I have to let the chocolate cool first. Yet, i was out of marshmellows, and could not start over. I learned my mistake but who knows how the s'mores bars will turn out now. Definitely not the same. Better than the original? Doubt it. Still good? Maybe...but just not the same. Knowing what i know now, i could've made s'mores bars that are to die for. Right now they're just dead. Sure, next time i'll know better. But what about this batch?

I shrug my shoulders at the world.

But i have to remember that i'm still young, and that i'll have the rest of my life to make incredible s'mores bars. Yes.

Goodnight, dear void.
Dear Jen,

I was just reading about your adventures and thought, how lovely and lucky. It must be fun to go on work adventures far far away, yet have it seem so familiar at the same time. I'm not sure if you're back yet, but please keep blogging about your adventures. I love reading them.

Love, SH

OMG!

So, one of the taste testers the Iron Chef today, was Nagisa Oshima! Crazy eh? You watch all these crazy films of his, and then form all these opinions of him, only to find him tasting 50 ways to cook a potato on TV. Seriously. The ingredient was potato. And because the iron chef tied with the challenger, they had to go into a 30 minute sweet potato overtime challenge. It's funny knowing that this guy, Oshima, who is reponsible for all these disturbing images that are present in my head (such as putting an egg where an egg should NEVER EVER be...) is sitting at a table with 3 other japanese ladies, contemplating on what kind of message a sweet potato brings to a dish. Crazy...

The iron chef won the overtime by the way.

The Life and Times of a Page

This morning, as i was outfitted in my blue blazer on a matching blue cart, I ran into the guy who plays Spike on Buffy and most recently Angel. Stupidly, i asked him if he wanted a ride. I sincerely was not trying to flirt AT ALL, just thought i'd do someone a favor and take them to their destination on the just washed and cleaned blue cart. He kindly declined with a "no thank you" and I drove away, muttering at myself and cursing silently in my head for having done such a stupid thing.

First of all, I only had my roommate in mind. I've been telling Sarah that i keep seeing him on the lot whereas she never has, and so if he had accepted the ride, I would've told him how much of a fan my roommate is. To tell you the truth, i don't watch the show that much, although i have seen a few episdoes, and they are pretty funny and silly. She's a much bigger fan than i am.

Second of all, I forgot that i was in uniform. DUH SH!

Third of all, he probably thought I was just another teenage fan trying to get a piece of his action, when in reality, i want none of his action! I was merely trying to do a nice thing.

SIGH...

But then again, maybe he just felt like walking, who knows right? Silly me....from now on, i'll just stay out of his way.

And then on the walk out of the lot (I was in pretty good spirits mind you, despite the whole spike incident), I notice this guy walking out of a stage, and I turn to him to do my usual "hi" to random passersby. This guy looked me straight in the eye, and smiled and said "hi" back. It took me a couple seconds to realize that it was Niles Crane! Now at this moment in my story let me remind you that I was still wearing my uniform at the time. In uniform, we are usually overlooked or ignored. But he said hi to me! Celebrities should always be this nice. So that semi-cancelled out the stupidity of my morning incident, and all was well in my head once again.

One of these days, these celebrity encounters will not phase me one bit. But until then, i will just keep bloggin about them. :-)

Oy.....3 hours later, and i'm still full. Once again i've stuffed myself on korean food. You know that song "Gotta Dance?" Its from one of those old movies....maybe singing in the rain or white christmas, or something of the kind. I'm thinking of adapting it to "Gottttaa Eaaaat." Ok ok, its funnier if you're inside my head right now and could see this mental image of me as Gene Kelley singing this song. Hehehe.....its funny....you have to be there. Or here, inside my head.

So Halloween was a success. My fairy costume went ok. I say ok because i got compliments on it, but it wasn't exercised to its full potential. First of all, it was freezing, so i had to wear my sweater. Ok, how many fairies do you know wear sweaters? NONE. They're usually all scandalous like. And then i didn't wear the leaf crown in my head cuz i forgot it in the car (but really, i just didn't want to deal with it), and I also didn't bring my wand because well....fairies don't carry wands. And, as cool as my wings were, they kept getting in the way (as i predicted!), i had to walk sideways through all the doors, and at one point i took them off in order to get through a crowd. But, if i ever have a photo shoot one day where i just have to stand there and be a fairy with no one in the way, then my costume would be perfect.

Anyways, enough with halloween blabber.

So november is upon us. It was cold today. I got jipped of my october. It went from really hot to really cold with no warning. Where did the in between go? I want it back dammit.

I saw blue lightning on the way home last night. It was the coolest thing ever. All of a sudden it was as if someone had turned on the blue lights outside. And i thought someone did for a split second, until i thought....theres no light that blue or that large anywhere! And also, there was aaron in the front seat yelling "blue lightning blue lightning!" That kinda tipped me off too. Anyways, it was cool.

Hello blog readers.

I apologize for the lack of blogs lately. Seems like theres so many things going on, yet nothing going on at the same time. It's wierd I know.

Right now i'm listening to Spring of the Four Seasons. That violin solo is so badass. I miss my violin...

So anyway, seems like lots of people have stopped blogging. Kind of sad, no? Congrats to Cady for keeping it up. I strive to blog more like her. I still check everyone's now and again, so don't think your blog is going unnoticed.

So lets see, what is new.
1. I still need to see Kill Bill.
2. Finally have a kick ass halloween costume. I'm going to be a pink fairy. Found my awesome fairy dress at a thrift store and after some alterations, it now seriously kicks ass. After doing some research on fairies, I now have an inner desire to really be one. Imagine waking up one day to find that you're the size of your cell phone, and that you can fly everywhere. I long to know the secrets deep inside the forests and have elves and pixies as my playmates. If only...
3. People still on strike. Theres 99cent sales going on at Ralphs and Albertsons. I'm dying to stock up on some cheap groceries. This picketing thing has gone on long enough. I just want to march up to those picketers and say, look pal(s), i've supported you for 2 weeks, but this craziness has gone on long enough! I don't want to drive farther to get to a grocery store. Assez!!!!! Assez!!!!!
Of course right after that i'd probably die.
4. I watched Moulin Rouge again and was reminded of how much i love that movie. I'm not usually a fan of Ewan McGregor, but when he belts out those songs with such passion....man...it just gives me the chills. Girly, i know, so shuttup!

So thats all the blog business for now. Blog you later!
And word to yer mutha.

Wednesday, October 15, 2003

LA is not the happiest place to be in right now.

1. Grocery workers on strike. Less access to groceries. Have to go to places like Gelsons and Jons.
2. MTAs' on strike. People stranded. Kids can't get to school. More traffic (I know, how can there be more than LA traffic than there already is? But there is.). Gas prices go up.
3. LA deputy walkouts.

What is going on? I guess its just another day in LA.

In unrelated news, apparently Jim Carrey rode right by me today, and I totally missed him. But, they're shooting his movie on the lot, so hopefully I'll get to see him sometime. Saw Jamie Presley the other night also. Apparently Cameron Crowe is on the lot casting for his next movie starring Ashton Kutcher. Other pages have already sighted both of them. I on the other hand, have not. My roommate might be in his film though! That would be exciting.

Anyone have any costume suggestions for me? I want something fun and original, not something that is unnecessarily skanky, like a ho or a club dancer. However, if an original and creative costume calls for some skankiness, than i'll put my pride aside and step up to accept the challenge. Thanks.

I just discovered yahoo radio...its great. Lady in red is such a great song.

Ok blog readers. I'm back. Sorry for my lack of blogging lately. I've started a couple times but lost them due to computer crashes. And plus i'm lazy.

So, i feel like lots of things have happened since i last blogged, but i don't feel like going through them. Nothing of interest lately. MAN I LOVE THIS RADIO THING. I feel like one of these days i'll write a blog of great importance. But right now i can't really concentrate cause Madonna is singing to me. So, i think i'll just go and listen and try to blog later.

Google Szu: you need to care a lot about little things like this to make life interesting

-My sister, during a recent discussion of International Talk Like a Pirate Day

With the holiday upon us tomorrow, I have not yet had the chance to prepare for the day, as many of my acquaintances have been as of late.
I am reminded of weeks ago when I first heard about Talk Like a Pirate Day on the radio. Ralph was informing everyone of the holiday that was supposedly coming up that Friday. However, he made a mistake and later informed the listeners that the holiday was not for a couple more weeks. As disappointed as I was, I was relieved that I was given a second chance to prepare for the day. Although now, with only a few hours left, I am scrambling to learn some last minute pirate phrases. I guess this is how last minute shoppers feel like. I am feeling the pressure.

Here are some helpful tips to get you through the holiday:

Google Szu: arrr me thinks me is sick
lefroggy42: stop it, its not here yet

Sometimes, you just gotta regulate, otherwise, people would be pirate talking all the time, and then the holiday would be ruined.

Google Szu: i need to prepare for it

Good point, but preparation occurs on one's own time, in one's own head, unless one is alone in the shower or sitting on the can. Just make sure no one is in the stall next to you when you're practicing. Otherwise you might get mistaken for a pirate.

In other non-piratical news, I saw more celebrities today! Well, b-listers is more like it. But exciting nontheless. Luke Perry of 90210 who was talking on his cell phone, and David Boreanaz of Angel who poked his head out of his trailer. Still no new milo sightings, but i have not given up yet!

Until next time blog readers!

So many things going on in the world today...

John Ritter's death...sad day Friday.
Recall election...recalled.
Arnold and Maria on Oprah...cute couple!
Venus and Serena's sister's murder...sad day last night.

But hey, the shows are coming back! No more summer reality tv that involve eating cockroaches and drinking squid liquids. And no more reruns.

Hooray for the new season! Hooray beer!

It's here. There's no escaping from it. The time has come.

It's football season.

Thank god, that means baseball is almost over. Baseball is sooooo boring. To watch that is. Playing is a different story.
But, back to football season. I can never get into football. Never had a favorite team. I think i barely get the gist of the game. But maybe this season it'll be different. I think I just need someone to explain it all to me. Slowly and carefully, with all the details. Hopefully by superbowl, i'll be watching the game rather than just the commercials.

Britney Spears.
Yes, the kiss with Madonna is overrated. But dang, she is still pretty hot. Although, does she sing anymore? Watching her performance tonight, there was barely any singing going on. But i guess that was never her strong point. Did you guys catch the part where they were changing her and her shorts almost came off? That would've been some good television.

To sum up: football is here, Britney is still hot, Bush drops his dog in front of little league soft ballers, and the world goes on.

Sad sad day.

Weekend actually. This weekend I had another first. Sunday was the first time i became a victim to theft. Not petty theft, like when they say "please take one" and you take two instead. It was a major theft to me, even though they call it petty theft on the police report. I was at the beach and had my wallet stolen out of my backpack. My whole entire wallet....gone. It was my stupidity for leaving my backpack there, even more stupid of me for leaving my social security card in my wallet. Yes. my ss card. The thing i never carry with me except for that one time i needed it and then just left in in my wallet and kinda forgot about it. I had just watched Fight Club the night before, so when it happened, I was still in the mindset of Tyler Derdon. Whereas usually i probably would've freaked out, i just quietly said to myself...shit. And then Tyler settled into my brain and said, it's not the end of the world, they're just material things. I agreed with Tyler until i got back to my apt and realized what i had lost. What i had lost were things of no importance really. But they were important to me. Like my UCSD student ID. That was a little souvenir i took with me from UCSD. Now gone. Forever. I was planning on being a student for a couple more years. At the movies, that is. But so much for that now. And my Disneyland Passport from HS. Also gone. My drivers license with my picture on it from when i was 16...gone. My starbucks card...gone. I had a $5 gift certificate to Jamba Juice i never got to use....also gone. My insurance card, gone. Credit cards, gone. I know, petty little things. But it would just be nice to have them back. The things i can replace i don't really care about. Except for my ssn that is. I can get a replacement card, but not a new number. So if someone were to use my ssn, i can't do anything about it until theres proof. So basically, until they've charged up $50,000 or some ridiculous amount on my credit because they've stolen my identity. So in essence, my identity...gone. But i mean, the things i can't replace, like my student id and old drivers license picture....thats all gone forever. Sad day.
Not to mention i just had 200 really cute panda checks printed up that i never even got to use, because i had to close my account and get a new one.

All this for three measley dollars in my wallet. Three.

le sigh.

Hope you're having a better week than i am. My internet services should be up any day now, so i'll be back in no time.

Friday, August 15, 2003

Hooray i'm back! Hooray beer!

Ok, so i'm not really back. I'm just back at home for the weekend. More like for the day. I'm going to drive my cuz up to Bizerkeley tomorrow for his first year of college. Remember how exciting that first week was? We were all young and bright eyed and eager and excited. And then it all turned to shit. Haha, just kidding. It wasn't that bad. The majority of it was actually quite fun and exciting. Good times, good memories. I always tell people the story of how I met miss missy during freshman year....flashback sequence please!

So, i was in the cafeteria eating all alone like the nerd i am, and i see missy alone by herself too (but not quite as nerdy as me...). Being the daring freshman i was, i actually approached missy (more like accosted her, cornered her while she was eating so she didn't have a place to escape to) and began my plans to conquer the cafeteria. Turns out she knew Dave and Sean and lived near my hood! Coincidence #1. Then, one of my suitemates, Angel, was going to visit her friend from HS, so i went with her to the 9th floor, and invaded her friend Kristin's room. That was how I met miss mori. Ironically enough, Kristin and Missy were roommates. The whole situation was very keanu reeves...as in "whoa..."
And then on top of that (more like on top of me...hehe, ok, the floor above me) was miss staff and her wacky suite.

And i'm getting off topic. THe point is that I made such good friends (other than the girls mentioned above) and had such great times in school and with the people i've met through school that I highly recommend it. School that is. Yes. School has my Grade A stamp of approval. Yes.

Ok, i really don't know where that topic was going. So let's move on shall we?

So i blogged before i moved, but dammit, it didn't show up, so i posted it again. And since you didn't get to read my blog, you probably didn't get my order to update yours. So, i'll let it go this time people. And thanks to those who did update. I appreciate updates on your lives.

I gotta go for now, maybe i'll blog more later about my new place.

black eyed PEAS OUT

PS. HAPPY BIRTHDAY CHRISTINE!!!!!!!!!!

Hey Party People!

Hooray i'm moving! Hooray beer!

Got back earlier tonight from Deanna's wedding. Weddings are cool. Lots of people, lots of drinking, lots of dancing = lots of people drinking and dancing...etc etc. It was such a fun wedding! And interesting too, as it was a catholic wedding. (They get to eat crackers in church!) It'll be cool to see the different kinds of weddings people have as I begin to make my rounds in the wedding circuit. Kinda like Hugh Grant! Wait...i think i already blogged about Hugh...Well, ok, so I only know 2 other couples getting married within the next year. But who knows, there might be more.

Thank GOD (seriously) sara is not having a ceremony. I mean, she is, but i don't have to be a part of it. Having to walk down the aisle like Missy did with all those people watching....omg....I was so nervous for her, and i was only sitting in the pews! And then i was reminded that as a bridesmaid i might have to make a speech, as missy did. Maybe i can just steal hers, cause it was so good that it made even MY eyes a little watery. But i guess her speech woulnd't really apply to sara's situation. Dammit.

In other news, i'm moving! I've been packing stuff since I got back, and now i'm just taking a blog break. Have to wake up early tomorrow and pack more stuff...Packing sucks. Moving is good, but, it also means, no more blogging from me for a while. I know, I know, you're all crying out there in the internet world. Well, just suck it up. If you need to reach me call my cell, or email me, i'll try to check it when i can.

Ok, so i know this has been a sucky post, especially being the last one i'll do in a while, but i'm tired and i need to go to bed. I'll keep you guys posted on my ADVENTURES IN THE VALLEY.......when i can.

This is SH, signing out (for a couple days/weeks...but i'll be back, don't worry)

PS: Mike mike mike mike mike. You happy now mike? :-)
PPS: I expect all blogs to be updated by the time i get back. That's an order!

I saw my boy Milo today on the Teen Choice Awards. He's looking rather....well, like himself. I'm still bummed he's not coming back on the show. And it doesn't look like he's getting his own either...booooo.

No one has been blogging lately, whats up with that?

In other news, i want to be a beastie boy.

Monday, August 04, 2003

Hi all, I'd like you to meet a new member of my blog family, KEN!

No, not Peltan. (Although Peltan, if you do read this, I think you should start one too. C'mon...you know you want to.)
Let me introduce you guys to Ken Kau. All you girls out there, listen up. Ken is one of the nicest guys I know. He was my stand partner during the Muir Musical. This guy plays a mean violin. I had so much fun with him as my stand partner, though i probably wasn't the greatest influence on him. We would mess up together (not purposefully of course), laugh at stuff together, gossip together (although usually me doing the gossipping), and play the wrong notes together (again, not on purpose of course...). Ken is quite the gentlemen also, not to mention so incredibly cute. Yea, all the girls wanted him. And he was MY standpartner. Yea, who's jealous now? But now i am opening the gates to Ken, and letting you have a piece of his action. You're thinking, why would I (insert your name here) want a piece of the ken action? Just go here, and check out the picture. It's worth a click.
Congrats to Andrew and Sharon!!

They got engaged on Friday!!

It's starting. I'm actually starting to know people who are getting married. Yikes. Pretty soon I'll be like Hugh Grant in 4 weddings and a funeral, with a wedding to attend every weekend. Except...i'm not as pretty as he, and i don't have quite as many friends. And since i don't have THAT many friends, i guess i won't be attending THAT many weddings. So really, i won't be like Hugh Grant at all. Which is too bad, because he is sooo pretty. And funny too! I mean, have you seen his mugshot when he was caught with divine brown? It's hilarious!

I guess i can go on a whole schpiel about how much looking for an apartment sucks, but, that would not be so fun to read. And when you come to my blog, i want you to have a pleasurable time, yknow? I look out for you people. Really.
So i'll just redirect you to my archives down there. Just scroll down and it'll be to your left. Happy reading!

Over n out.

Sunday, August 03, 2003

Ok...a day later, and I still can't get over it. How cute is he??
http://allstarz.org/~milo/pics/6.gif

Ah milo...our paths shall cross again. I know you live in Venice. When I used to work there, I would always hope that I would by some chance see you while driving in my car or something. But never did i think i would be a couple feet away from you. But alas, in my page uniform (dammit!). We shall meet again...I hope.

Saturday, August 02, 2003

OMG! OMG! OMG!!!

I saw MILO today. Thats right. Milo Ventimiglia. (Please see blogs of May 20 and 21st.) There were no words to describe how excited I was. My tour group didn't even seem to notice. But oh i did. That's right. I think this special occasion calls for a letter, in case Milo reads my blogs. Yea, just like Ryan Secrest, these two don't seem to have much to do other than to read my blogs...

Dearest Milo,

Let me start of this letter off by saying that you have made my day. Perhaps year even. If someone asked me which one celebrity I would want to see or encounter, it would not be Tom Cruise, or Madonna, or Johnny Depp. It would be you! Ok, and Chris Martin too, but he is on a different level of celebrity. He is a rock star, and thus more accessible through concerts and such, where as you, my love, are elusive like those humpback whales in that commercial, making you a bigger celebrity than that of the Gwenyth-loving Martin.
I must apologize for our hasty encounter on New York street today. Yes, the page that was smiling and driving towards you with googly eyes in a blue cart of 8 was in fact me. And though the rest of my group was too busy watching the Gap models, I just want you to know that I did see you. In fact, I know you saw me too. Those page uniforms are not hard to miss. Especially when they're sitting in large electric carts coming towards you at 6 miles per hour. Our gaze held for a brief moment, but then I had to turn away to make sure the rest of my group was seeing what I was seeing. But alas, they were still watching the Gap models. That's when i turned back to you to give you a departing smile as i realized that maybe i should be watching where i drive because the rest of my group sure wasn't paying attention as they were still...watching the Gap models.
Please don't think me rude for not speaking to you. Had the circumstances been different, I would have approached you. If it weren't for the rule of "not pointing out celebrities in front of your tour groups," I would have stopped in front of you and made everyone watch you in wonder, as I did for those brief moments. Had i not been in my hideous uniform, i would have put on some game for you. But seeing how i have no game, to even try while in my uniform would've been sub par, and to be honest, quite embarrassing.....for the both of us. Thus I had to leave without a word...
Had I been alone in civilian clothing walking down New York street and ran into you, I would not go with my gut instinct to jump your bones. Instead, I would have cautiously approached you, introduced myself, and let you know how much I have enjoyed watching you on the show and how grief stricken i am that your character will not be coming back for the new season, but how elated i was when i heard talk of you having your own show. After discussing banalities, I would have invited you for a cup of coffee so that we may get to know each other on a more intimate level. Over coffee, we would've had heated discussions over movies, books, bands, and whether or not John Stamos should really be doing commercials for phone companies in order to revive his career. Had circumstances been different, we might even have become friends.
However, was it just me, or did you feel the connection too when our eyes met for that brief moment? I assume you were there for the WB promo shoot. But why were you on New York street the same time I was if the shoot was taking place in stage 14, far from where we had our encounter? Not only were you there, you were there in NY. Coincidence, or fate?

It is my hope that our paths may meet again in the future, and hopefully next time, i will be scantily clad. And you can just be Milo.

Sincerely,
From a Huge Fan,
ME

What do you think of the letter? Perhaps it needs to be edited just a bit before he receives it.

Thanks for making my day Milo!

Why can't things just be easy?
I guess cause then nothing would be interesting...
Why do I ask questions that I can answer?

Sometimes i wish i wasn't such a light sleeper. Actually, i wish that ALL the time. I hate hearing the tiniest noises and not being able to go back to sleep. Sometimes i just want to be one of those people who can sleep through anything. I don't see how people can sleep and snore at the same time. I snore very rarely. Only because if i did, i'd wake myself up. On the rare occasions that i have snored (due to falling asleep in a wierd position, or nasal congestion from colds), i usually woke up because i heard myself snore. Or...maybe i do snore, who knows. But it couldn't possibly be that loud cause i would wake myself up. And how is it that in my heaviest REM cycle, I know to wake up seconds before my nose starts bleeding? But most of all, i hate when my problems during the day get incoporated into my dreams. Except sometimes, they're not dreams, i'm just sleeping and thinking about the things i'll have to deal with when i wake up. It shouldn't be like that. I should at least get to escape from my daily dilemmas for 6 or 7 hours while i sleep and dream of deserted islands and cabana boys or something (except i've never gotten either one, damn it). Is that too much to ask? Just for some nice, heavy, you-can't-wake-me-up-with-drums-if-you-tried sleep.

And yes, i'm just complaining again. Thats what you get when you come to my blogs. Complaints and frustrations.
I think i'll go now and join cady sleeping on the sand by the beach in her sweats. Maybe with the ocean in the background, i'll be able to dream of my deserted islands and cabana boys.
Don't wake me up.

At work again...bored.

So i have this huge poster of Forrest Gump on the wall next to me. Everytime i look over, i get this feeling that someones looking at me. And sure enough, i look over and there is forrest, looking at me. Stop it forrest, you're creeping me out.

In other news, mini me is getting engaged to a 6ft woman. Huh...

Ok, Missy makes a good point. #5 on my list doesn't really count as a romantic moment because of what goes on AFTER the monologue. But, if you take the monologue out of the film context, and just read it by itself as #5 on my list, its still very romantic.

I want to write a song, but have nothing to write about. Shall i write about nothing? That seems so Seinfeld. Give me some pointers will ya? In other guitar news, I found some great Madonna and Mandy Moore songs to play. Yippee!

Sunday, July 20, 2003

Ok, new top 5 list.

TOP 5 Most Romantic Take Your Breath Away Moments in Movies when two lovers get together (in no particular order):

1. Moulin Rouge: When Ewan Mcgregor turns to Nicole Kidman and sings, "My gift is my song, and this song's for you."

2. You've Got Mail: When Tom Hank's dog Brinkley turns around the corner at the park, and he's yelling after Brinkley, and Meg Ryan hears Tom's voice yelling for Brinkley and realizes that her email lover really IS Tom Hanks. She wanted it to be him so bad.

3. Romeo and Juliet: When Claire Danes is looking through the tropical fish tank and sees Leonardo's eyes, and they both slowly stand up together on both sides of the tank.

4. The Wedding Singer: When after Billy Idol announces that they let first class do pretty much whatever they want, Drew Barrymore hears Adam Sandler's voice over the loud speaker singing her one of the best songs ever written.

5. Chasing Amy: Holden's monologue says it all:
I love you. And not in a friendly way, although I think we're great friends. And not in a misplaced affection, puppy-dog way, although I'm sure that's what you'll call it. And it's not because you're unattainable. I love you. Very simple, very truly. You're the epitome of every attribute and quality I've ever looked for in another person. I know you think of me as just a friend, and crossing that line is the furthest thing from an option you'd ever consider. But I had to say it. I can't take this anymore. I can't stand next to you without wanting to hold you. I can't look into your eyes without feeling that longing you only read about in trashy romance novels. I can't talk to you without wanting to express my love for everything you are. I know this will probably queer our friendship -no pun intended- but I had to say it, because I've never felt this before, and I like who I am because of it. And if bringing it to light means we can't hang out anymore, then that hurts me. But I could'nt allow another day to go by without getting it out there, regardless of the outcome, which by the look on your face is to be the inevitable shoot-down. And I'll accept that. But I know some part of you is hesitating for a moment, and if there is a moment of hesitiation, that means you feel something too. All I ask is that you not dismiss that -at least for ten seconds- and try to dwell in it. Alyssa, there is'nt another soul on this fucking planet who's ever made me half the person I am when I'm with you, and I would risk this friendship for the chance to take it to the next plateau. Because it's there between you and me. you can't deny that. And even if we never speak again after tonight, please know that I'm forever changed because of who you are and what you've meant to me, which -while I do appreciate it- I'd never need a painting of birds bought at a diner to remind me of.

And that, ladies and gentlemen, are my top 5 most favorite romantic moments. What's yours?

OMG!!

While watching the Ben and JLo interview, I found out that Ben Affleck was the little boy on Voyage of the Mimi.

VOYAGE OF THE MIMI!!!!!

Ok, how much did we love that series back in 4th grade?? I mean, they were living on a boat, and theres this grandpa who was kinda mean but he was nice at the end, and they were stranded but made drinking water out of plastic tents. Man...all the nautical knowledge I have (what little there is), I learned from that show. Damn good show.

Ok, back to the show...

Hello people!

Here I am, blogging at work. Hooray work. Hooray beer.
I'm actually in the same building that Levar Burton works in. It seems like i have some sort of connection to him or something. Or maybe i keep seeing him because he actually works here. Who knows. The bathroom here is kinda wierd. It's pretty much a storage with a toilet and a sink. Not that its dirty or anything, its actually very clean. But its just wierd peeing when you have boxes of bubble wrap and file cabinets next to you.
It's so quiet around here when its not busy. I can literally hear crickets chirping. Ok, now they stopped.

Time to go! Bye bye.

Hahahaha.......
Crazy Japanese.....
http://ieng9.ucsd.edu/~dyang/pic1/hkzkt10.wmv
Imagine that!
The day after i blog about tipping, it becomes a topic of conversation on the radio. Perhaps Ryan Secrest reads my blogs? I mean, how likely is it that he and lisa fox start talking about tipping only a few moments before i get home and get out of the car, leaving me to sit in front of my house with the engine off until they've finished with the topic, making my neighbors to wonder exactly what i'm doing just sitting in the car with the engine off?

Coincidence? Pretty likely. But ryan, if you are reading my blogs...give me some free tickets or something, i listen to you guys all the time!

So after perusing tipping.org, I am now aware that many countries do tip.
They also gave the definition of a "tip" as: something given voluntarily or beyond obligation usually for some service. Voluntarily...right. Not according to a certain code book called SOCIAL AWARENESS!! If it is voluntary, then why is there the rule of at least 15%? There should be no "at least" anything if this custom is supposed to be "voluntary." I mean, just say that its 15%. Don't put words in there like "at least."

HOWEVER, to contradict myself even more...
After receiving my paycheck today, i'm more appreciative of tips. (Not that i wasn't appreciative before, mind you.) I was reminded of something i forgot to mention in my last post: taxes. Taxes rob you of your paycheck, and that is how i can justify the so called "voluntary" tipping practice. So now when people tip me, i won't have to feel guilty about it and just think of it as them paying for my taxes. And when i tip people, i'll just think of it as me paying for their taxes. And if we both do our part, they cancel each other out so that theres no taxes to pay! Yippee!!

Ok, so i know it doesn't really work that way. But i feel like someone's gonna be kicking me in the ass for being on both sides of the fence about this whole topic. Soon. Very soon. Someone thats a waiter or waitress who lives off tips. So that whole cancelling each other out thing was just a ploy to confuse you people before you give me a good ass kicking. But don't you think tips is just an excuse for owners to pay waiters like shit? Because of tips, employers can pay people less and justify the low salary with the tips that they'll be getting. What if waiters and waitresses of the world united, and began a strike for more money? But i'm sure if that worked, there would've been some changes by now.

So for now, Hooray for ass kicking! Hooray beer!

This Friendster thing is insane. INSANE i tell you!! It has its goods and its bads. But mostly, i can't stand it (even though i myself am on it and have asked friends to join). I feel like a sellout. I hope that all my friends (whether they're on friendster or not) will know that they are my friends and how much i appreciate them no matter whose list i'm on. or they're on. or not on. but if you're reading this, then you're obviously a friend, and i'd much rather have you listen to me banter about nothing than write a testimonial about me and how kewl i am or how great of a "friend" i am. cause really, if you are familiar with friendster at all, who would write a bad testimonial about someone? if someone doesn't like someone, you wouldn't be a friend! you wouldn't be asked to join friendster through that person, and you certainly wouldn't be writing a testimonial about that certain person you don't like.
and i'm sure by bashing on friendster, i've offended probably about 80% of my friend population, seeing how i don't have many friends, and most of them are on friendster. haha. kinda ironic. so to you, my friendster friends, i'm taking a letter of apology:

I'm sorry friends. it's not you, it's friendster. i have a love/hate relationship with friendster, and its not fair that you, friend, are caught in the middle. It's just something i have to deal with on my own. i hope you will understand and forgive me. It was never suppose to be this way. I never meant to join, but i just kept receiving email after email, seducing me to join. I'm sure you were lured in the same way. And then, one night, i couldn't handle the emails any longer and finally surrendered to the temptations. It's not something i'm proud of. Just remember, i'm a member of friendster just like many of you are. And even though bashing on the organization that i myself am a part of is rather contradictory, its something i must do to get my frustrations out. So please forgive me. It was never you, and was always friendster.

Sincerely,
your friend.........ster

On to the next topic of discussion: Tipping.
I never really understood the whole tipping thing. It's not that i'm against it, i just don't get it. I've been on both sides of the tipping fence: i've tipped, and been tipped, and yet i still don't get it.
Yes, i understand that waiters and waitresses make their living off tips. In fact, i'm considering being one to make some money myself. But what i don't understand is the need for gratuity. Isn't it part of the cost of the meal? But, you pay the meal, and you tip. Who started that? Who started the tradition of tipping, and who made it mandatory that groups of 6 or more should tip more? (ok, maybe not "mandatory" but just in good taste)
Isn't the service included in the cost of food? Shouldn't employees accept the fact that, going into the job, the salary they agreed to is what they're getting, without the tips?
So, people out there now might be thinking i'm just a cheap skate. Maybe i am. But, i do tip people, and i've worked at places where people tip you. I've been tipped, and i still don't understand it. People have given me a whole dollar for pouring coffee for them. Coffee that cost them 95 cents. I'm not going to complain and i'll gladly accept the tip, but tell me how that makes sense. I would think that a cup of coffee probably really costs....less than 50 cents, lets say. So maybe 40 cents goes into running the store and the cups and profits. And 5 cents or less is part of the service fee that i'm already getting in my paycheck, so tipping me more than their cup of coffee costs really just doesn't make any sense.
I always felt guilty when people gave me big tips. Yes, when people tip well it probably means they were happy with the service, but I always feel like the service fee was already included in their purchase, no? Can someone confirm or deny that for me?
Then there are times when i get really great service and i was happy enough with the service that i wanted to tip them, but it wasn't a place where tipping was necessary. Like, shoe salesmen/women for instance. Sure you can say that waitressing is hard work. But isn't helping people find the right type of shoe, making sure it fits, going to the back to find the right color and size, isn't all that just as tough? I mean come on! You're dealing with people's feet all day!
What about retail? They provide a service, and probably don't get paid all THAT much, but they don't get tipped.
Janitors? They don't get tipped.
When you buy a meal, you're paying for the service and a product (food). When you work, you get paid for doing what you do, which is serving people. Where does the tip come in to play?
Maybe i just have a skewed way of thinking about things, so can someone enlighten me on the concept of tipping? But then again, maybe my thinking isn't THAT skewed, cause where else in the world other than the US do people tip and get tips? Our canadian friends perhaps? Eh? I really have no idea.

Whew. So.

In other news: a headline today ran: Dawson's Hottie no longer Single, referring to James Van DerBeek. First of all, wasn't he "no longer single" a long time ago? And second, who says he's a hottie?

MONSTER GARAGE!

What a great show. This week is wild west week on the discovery channel, so they transformed an old Ford Ranchero into a mechanical hydraulic riding bull/machine. They even had real bull riders ride it. The result was a little disappointing, since the ranchero didn't seem to bounce high enough, so the ride didn't look as rough as a real bull. But the concept of it was cool. And the finished ranchero looked great, they painted it and everything. If you don't know what i mean just watch the show. It's hilarious. I think they're showing it again on saturday at 9pm. If anyone happened to catch this episode, let's chat!

Today is Cady's Bday. Happy Birthday Cady!!! I hope you're out celebrating like crazy. And you're wrong, i'm still a moron.

In other news: i received an email from missy today that was titled "Sex." Wondering what missy might have meant by that, i opened the email, only to find her asking me if i want a bigger you-know-what. Seeing how i don't even have a you-know-what, let alone a big one, i couldn't possibly want a bigger one than the one i already don't have, so i mentally declined missy's offer. politely of course, as to not hurt her feelings for offering me such a wonderful opportunity. It also seems as though missy has changed her email to "xxilgzddcnejdfxx@msn.com"

That missy. what a tease.

HEY YOU! Reader! Drop me a line. My inbox is empty and i want some emails. Thanks.
Meat overdose...

Tonight I went to Outback Steakhouse with my family. I've been wanting to go there for a long time, so of course I was excited when we went. But then what do i do? I go and overdose on meat. I had chicken, ribs, and steak. I don't think i've ever had that much meat by itself in one sitting. Except for that time we had turducken, which, i will probably never do again. After that night, i told myself that i never wanted to eat chicken again. But that lasted for about a day.
Usually i get some sort of pasta, or just chicken. But there's always something else other than the meat. Not tonight though. It was just meat. Ugh. Nights like this make me want to become a vegetarian. Although, that thought will probably last a day too.
Not that the food wasn't good. It was great actually. But it was just an overabundance of meat. This brings me to wonder about the Atkins diet. How do people do it? I can barely do it for one meal. Bring on the rice and pasta and potatos. Bring on the carbs. I need them. For without them, meat is just well cooked animal flesh. With them, meat is a nice little side delight to my yummy carbs. Mmm......carbs.

Hooray carbs! Hooray beer!

(Hooray beer is a saying coined by a jamaican wannabe actor, copyrighted by a beer commercial often played on the radio. For future references, I'm referring to the commercial, not beer.)

Ok, so LA isn't THAT bad...that is, after midnight.

Especially when you have norah with you, and you can just zip through the freeways as fast as you want. As norah says:

All I ask is for you
To come away with me in the night.
Come away with me.

LA after midnight is kinda nice and pretty even, with all them twinkling lights and whatnot. Especially the quiet part: it doesn't talk back to you, or frustrate you, or annoy you, or be a smartass when you really don't need smartasses around. It's just quiet. Kinda like models, yknow? Good for the looking, but once they start opening up...well, they just really shouldn't. Being able to zip through the freeways is kinda invigorating. It's like my way of saying a big FUCK YOU to the horrid LA traffic that i've been going through, and will be going through for a while longer than expected. Although... the freeway is never gonna know i'm saying that to it by going fast. Perhaps i shall take a letter.

Dear LA traffic,
You suck. Big time. You are a sorry excuse for smog. You make my ass hurt and my right ankle sore. Whats worse, you make me sit through crappy radio songs (...I mean really, Daniel Beddingfield? Oy...he should get a letter from me too!). You make my Corolla crawl when it can fly. You waste my time, money, and gas- all of which I want back by the way. I hate you and your filthy existence.
Hating you always,
Your Hater.

Yes, it's a bit cruel I'll admit. But its well deserved.
And on second thought, i have to take something back. I don't personally know any models, so i really can't judge their intelligence. Let's just say LA is like...like...well, you think of something.

And now,
my heart is about to explode and i have to pee.
No more coffee after midnight for meeeeeeeeeeeeee...

So it seems as though people are slowly jumping off the blog wagon. It's sad. But, just becareful, wait til the wagon comes to a complete stop before you do any jumping. Right now its just moving really slow, but not completely at a stop yet. And, i guess, as long as i'm driving, the wagon will still be in motion, no matter how slow, so it wouldn't really be safe for you to jump off anyways, so just stay put alright? Always remember, safety first.

In other news, I feel like i need to mature at least 5 years in order to qualify to live in LA. Are there no 21 yr olds in LA? If so, where are you guys? Can I be your friend? And where are the people who DON'T go from bar to bar to drink or smoke or do drugs or the occasional 420? If you're out there, lets start a club. We can watch old movies all night and get coffee and do some "experimenting" ourselves in the kitchen with "special brownies" to see, once and for all, how to get those darn peppermint patties to stay in the middle and not sink to the bottom. (It's tough i tell ya). And like the Flintstones, we too will have a grand ol time. Yabba dabba doo.
So far, membership is 1, with me being the president. Which means if you join now, within the next 20 minutes, you can acquire an executive position in this exclusive club. Vice president perhaps? We'll see.

So many summer movies, so little money.....sigh. Who's up for movie hopping with me?

So, being a page at paramount has its perks (other than wearing that spiffy blazer, fo sho). Even before i started, i've already seen Levar Burton. For those of you who don't know, he is the reading rainbow and star trek and roots guy. It was pretty cool. And then yesterday i was like 10 feet away from Madonna. Even though i didn't see her cause the area she was in was covered up by big white curtains. Missy elliot was there too, but i only heard madonna. So, stayed tuned right here for more of my star sightings. haha.

But, back to movies...why can't they be cheaper? Why?? Such a shame that you have to pay 9 dollars now to watch a movie. Good thing i'll probably look like i'm 16 for 10 more years.....thats how long i'll use my student id for. Wahahaha. Actually, in 10 more years, i'll be 32, and i'll finally look like i'm 21. At least i'm hoping. Lets keep all your fingers crossed for me.

I'm also sucked in now to this friendster beta crap. All of a sudden i was inundated with people emailing me to be their friend. And so finally i gave in and joined. Did you know i'm connected to 44719 people in this world through 8 people? Yea, neither did I. Whoopdy doop. Thats like 44711 people i still won't ever meet probably. Sigh.....but yea, i'm sucked in, what can you do. And you're probably asking, why are you so anti friendster? well.....i just am. if i feel like it i'll get into it later.

peace out for now.

Here's another conspiracy theory i've come up with:

I bet that Mapquest.com is being hired by high executives of the large oil companies to give wrong directions. That way, we drive around in circles more, thus, using more fuel, thus, buying more gas, which in turns goes to the big executives of the said large oil companies.

It's a possibility, no?

Chris Martin in front of the piano is just about the hottest thing to watch.
Speaking of hot, he wears this long sleeved jacket that fits snugly at the neck. Although it looks great on him, I always think that he must get hot under it. I mean, under all those bright lights, and banging away at the piano, the last thing you'd want on you is some stuffy (yet cool) looking jacket. He should just take it off.

In fact, he should just take it ALL off.

Ok, so per request of miss missy, i'm going to blog.

i told her i had nothing to blog about, so i'm going to blog about my IM conversations. Here's one i had with Garrett

dr funk23: I watched some american idol last summer. it was ok, but I didn't really think that what they were competing on was interesting. (although easier to compete on). I'd much rather listen to a band with interesting music and mediocre vocalist.
lefroggy42: i think the show itself is kinda boring, but the kicking people off part......thats exciting
dr funk23: meh. they need attack dogs.
lefroggy42: or ninjas
lefroggy42: ninjas would be cool
dr funk23: ninjas are always cool.
dr funk23: as are surly penguins.
lefroggy42: yes!
dr funk23: did you hear that southwest airlines is going to put penguins on some flight or rather to promote that fact that they fly to SD (and thus seaworld)
lefroggy42: whoa
lefroggy42: crazy
lefroggy42: where'd you hear that??
dr funk23: I have a really funny image in my mind of penguins wandering up and down the aisle
lefroggy42: serving you drinks
lefroggy42: in their tuxedos
dr funk23: giving you dirty looks.
dr funk23: keeping you in line

hooray for penguins and ninjas!

on to the next topic:
i love the WB. Remember back when the WB wasn't the WB and it was just sucky channel five that sometimes played cool 80s movies on the weekends? Whoever took over and made the WB what it is today is amazing. I mean, putting a bunch of good looking teens and young adults on some tv shows is the greatest thing they've done. I want to be on the WB. Whenver I see that teaser commercial of all the characters on the WB shows smiling and looking i-wanna-jump-you hot, in that warehouse with that "who do you love" song in the background, i get sucked in. I mean, its all the good looking people looking good without all the drama from their shows. It's a nice 45 sec. or 1 min. or so of time where nothing else matters but good looking people in cool clothes under great lighting that makes them look even better than they already do. And you know what? It works dammit. I want to watch those shows more. Damn that WB. Damn those good looking people. Damn that Milo! Damn damn!

Sigh...."who do i love" they ask? I love the WB.

90210
So, I watched the 90210 reunion tonight, sans David and Donna. I read one article that said they both had scheduling conflicts, and another that said donna was angry and didn't want to be there cause brenda was gonna be there. And yes, i realize they have real names, but whatever. It would've been nice to see them all there. Despite what many of you reading this may think, 90210 was a really good show. Especially during the Brenda years. More catfights and drama and whatnot. I think it started when I was in 4th grade. And back then, it was definitive of what high school life might be like. Boy, was i naive. Little did i realize back in 4th grade that 90210 was EXACTLY what highschool life would be! That is, minus all the sex, partying, drug abuse, pregnancy scares, trips to france, afterschool jobs, peach pits, summer beach houses, and of course, makeout sessions with cool hunky dylan. Ok, minus everything. But by the time they got to college, i got smarter. I was in highschool by then, and knew that college life was not going to be like 90210. Nope. Anyone could've told you that. College was going to be like Felicity, duh! What with the gay bosses and big comfy sweaters and chopping of the hair, magic spells that bring me back in time, and of course, Ben, love of my life Ben. Ok, so even though I never had a ben, my college career was simliar to Felicity in sooo many ways. First of all, i worked at a coffee shop. 2 to be exact. Although i didn't have a gay boss, i did sleep with the manager to get the job, so its close enough. Second of all, i chopped my hair off. And though it wasn't as short as her's, I did always wish i had curly hair. Third, i changed from a science to art major. Ok ok, so felicity was premed, and i started off as management science. But it has "science" in the title, and premed is also science. So there. AND! Media is part of the Visual ARTS department. Arts!!
I rest my case. I am soooo felicity. Sometimes, i think we're so alike that i wonder if people have trouble telling us apart.
Upon reading some legal jargon to see if i can enter a contest twice, i came across this rule that applies only to Canadians:

Canadian residents selected as winners will be required to successfully answer a time-limited, unaided, mathematical skill-based question prior to being awarded a prize, and failure to successfully answer the question will cause the prize to be forfeited and awarded to an alternate winner.

And let me say, this only applied to Canadian winners, not regular American winners. What, canadians are bad at math? They don't want canadians to win? Is this some sort of canadian prejudice? If i was canadian, i would be outraged! Outraged i say!!
Maybe there is a logical answer for this strange rule. If you're some sort of legal expert, please explain this to me. My canadian friends shouldn't have to subject to such outrage. Outrage i say!!

Ok, ok. So i don't really have any canadian friends. But i plan on visiting someday, and thats all that matters.
Whenever i watch Chris Martin sing, especially the song Yellow, like i did this morning, i get this
deep
urge
to
jump
him.
I don't know what it is, i really don't. But next week I will try to win tickets to see him in NY. There i will profess my love for him while he gyrates in front of his piano. And among the thousands of girls also screaming for him, he will, alas, not hear me. Which will then be my cue to move on to plan B: mentally flash him. Though...there will not be much to see...Except! for the stalker-esque message I will inscribe on my chest, bearing the words: I WANT YOU. And it is through this mental message that he will discover my love for him, and secretly profess his love for me also, through song (as to not make the other girls so jealous that they stampede me in a moment of rage). He will then proceed to sing Yellow as he's never sang before, this time through the power of love, as though no one else is around, except for me.
I HAVE to win those tickets now. Its all planned out. It'd be a shame to waste such a good plan.
And what happens after he sings to me you say? Well, I'm being spontaneous, I'm not going to plan out our love affair that follows.

I miss my roomies. They are an awesome trio of girls, all different in their own way. Sometimes I think we're like the spice girls, cause we're all so different, but we all work well together to create the whore house that is Apt. 15. In case you're wondering, i'm scary spice. Now that they're not around, there's no one to back me up on my acapella phrases. I absent mindedly did it once around a different group of people who had no idea what i was doing, and it was followed by silence. Whereas back in the old days, i would be backed up by usually kristin, then missy or cady. Together, we were the Apt 15 acapella group. Now, at home, gilmore girls is no longer the same, i don't have someone to go to for all the answers in the world, i have to IM someone thats miles away instead of IMing her 2 feet away in the same room, and theres no one trying to poison me. It's just not the same. I miss my girls.

Tuesday, May 06, 2003

Sometimes in the shower i just look down at my feet and think, damn my feet are big. If what they say about the size of one's hands is the same as what they say about feet, then yes, it inevitably means that i wear large shoes. Sometimes i wish i had cute little feet like some of the other girls i know, who can just slip on any shoe on display at the store, because they only put cute shoes in small sizes out. But usually, when i'm in the shower, staring down at my big feet (currently adorned by purple nail polish), I'll wish i had cute small feet for a couple minutes, but then be grateful that my big feet are keeping me up and balanced so I won't slip and fall in the slippery shower floor and hit my head on something sharp, thus resulting in a big bloody mess that would only be washed away by the water from the shower itself, leaving no traces of my injured head, bloody and cracked from the fall with my brain portruding out.

So really, having big feet is a good thing. And to all you small feeters out there, I'd suggest that you buy a non-slip mat for the shower.

It's over. My soap consipiracy theory is over. And what did i learn from it? Don't be creating consipiracy theories out of things you know nothing about. Sigh....

And how many different versions of my names are out there? Let me count the ways...SH, size hue, wooha, soowah, su hahaha, suey, chop suey, hot wangs... etc, etc. Last night josh thought he was soooo clever by pulling out an old favorite: sue u ha(???) Well, that is a close relative of "su su su, i'm gonna sue you you you" from back in fifth grade. Was that jamie or maryam that made up that song? No matter...it exists, and thats all that matters. C'mon people!!! Where are your creative juices?? Huh?? You can do better than that!

Peanut butter now comes in a squeezable tube.
Everyday things change. Things can be great, things can be horrible. But they change. And it's because of these changes that we grow as people. Without change, life would be stagnant. Like old water sitting out, waiting for bugs and larvae infestations. We don't want that. We want life to be forever turning, and churning. Like butter. Or, rather, more like waterfalls. You know, constant movement. Surprises at every drop. Life is kinda like putting yourself into a wooden barrel and just rolling down niagra falls: you know there's gonna be a big fall, but you can't see it, so you just twirl your thumbs inside the barrel, til BANG! you fall, and you're falling falling until you safely land again, and you're just floating in the calm waters, bobbing up and down and down and up. And when you come out of the barrel, you can say to yourself, wow...what a trip.....what a rush....let's go do that again! At least, thats what it should be like. Surprises you can't see at every corner. Otherwise, it'd all be boring. And we're not here that long anyways. No time to waste on boredom.
So, wherever you are on your barrel journey, just know that i'm in the next barrel over, twirling my thumbs with you. Perhaps I'll see you in line when we do it all over again.

Yabba dabba doo!

It's time for..................ANOTHER BLOG!!!!!!!
Yay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So, first things first. You people don't blog enough. You think you do.....but ooooh no, you don't.

First things second: I had a good weekend. :-)

Then, there is the business of John Cusack. Yeah, we all think he's cute and loveable, especially with all those characters he plays....but....I dunno anymore. After watching him on Conan...i was a little disappointed. He didn't seem very enthusiastic at all. Or interested in conan. How can you not like Conan?? So.....I might have to take john off my top 5. I'll give him a probation period though. But john, you betta watch yo self!

Yay, ko li ann bah bee ku tonight for dinner. yum.........

So, that's it for getting down to business......the business of getting down:
"and get down to all that matters now, which is getting down once more"

Stayed tuned....same blogspot...same blogg-er...

BREAKFAST BURRITOS

I think i once blogged about breakfast burritos, but now i can't seem to find that blog. In any case, if one day you're going through my old blogs and come across my blog about breakfast burritos at El Cotixan's, IGNORE IT! Cause i have discovered something much better. Forget El Cotixan's. Pepe's is the new thing in town! Their breakfast burritos are GI-NORMOUS! And pretty cheap, and sooooooooooooo much better than El Cotixan breakfast burritos. My cuz came home with one, and gave me half. 2 hours later, i'm still working on my half. I think eating a whole one can kill you. People have died from caloric overdose right? Anyways...comparing the el cotixan breakfast burrito to Pepe's is like comparing Screech to Mr. T. Seriously. This is a serious burrito. Watch out! Beware! But damn...it is the best breakfast burrito i've had so far.
Ok, enough burrito blog.
Buritto out.

I think i'll just clean out the rest of my closet with it on... hehe.....

And now, a childhood rendition...

Miss suzy had a steamboat
The steamboat had a bell (ding ding!)
Miss suzy went to heaven
Her steamboat went to HELL
O operator, please give me number nine
And if you disconnect me
I'll kick you from BEHIND
the fridgerator
there laid a piece of glass
miss suzy sat upon it,
and broke her little little ASS
K me no more questions
and tell me no more lies
the boys are in the bathroom
zipping up their FLIES
are in the city
the bees are in the park
Miss Suzy and her boyfriend
Are kissing in the D-A-R-K, D-A-R-K, Dark Dark Dark!

Ta da!
Thank you.

Ok, so i was suppose to help my mom with dinner, but all of a sudden she is washing her hair. So in the mean time, i'm gonna blog.

Today in the car after our weekly sunday dim sum, my mom asked my cuz what he had for dinner at the Angel's game.
Yang: A hot dog.
me: it was probably expensive. Five dollars?
Yang: No...seven.
me: Seven dollars for a hot dog?? Dang.
Yang: No well, it was one of those jumbo hot dogs, it was pretty big.
Shuan: Did it make you feel inadequate?

Yeah...so...

I also saw the funniest thing on tv today. It's this sport called Curling. Well, i'm not sure if it is a sport, if it's not, i don't know what else it would be. It was the Curling Championships i believe. You know how in some bars they have this game with a long smooth board with sand on it, and you have to roll a puck from one side to the other without letting it fall in the ditch? Well, curling is like a bigger version of it, on ice. It's funny because after the player rolls their stone puck down the ice, you have these two people on the same team with little brooms sweeping a path for the puck as it rolls towards the target. The aerial shot of this is just funny. I've never seen this before, but apparently it's a pretty big thing. If you know what i'm talking about, IM or email me. We'll have to talk about this. This requires some much further discussion.

And in other news, i'm back in OC. For good. That is, until I move again.

That is all.

and PS: missy can't be cuter in her dreams than in real life....she's pretty hot as is....
shhhhhhh......
Man, i should leave college more often!

When you leave, people shower you with gifts! It's like your birthday, but not. First I got a cake and balloons at a MuirWoods shindig last week. Kristin made me brownies for the musical. Christine made me lemon bars and really cool flowers...i forgot the exact name of them.... Then cady got me a really cool treasure box with our pictures on it. And chris wrote me a song (my very own song with my name in it!!! well...almost...) and him and christine recorded it for me. It is the coolest thing ever. Food, music, and presents...what more can a girl ask for. Well, probably a glass of milk. :-)

So, i might not be blogging for a while, due to....moving stuff hither and thither. Speaking of which, I'm not even completely done yet. It's never gonna get done. Why can't things just pack themselves? Why? And now i'm too tired to pack.

I have to say, I had a great day. I met up with someone I didn't think i'd see again at MuirWoods, had a lunch and movie date with Angel (chicago is great!!!), packed (boo), and went to watch A.C. Slater at the pub. Then had a lovely visit from chris and christine, which leaves me here....blogging...instead of packing.

I love my friends!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Every one of you.
Thanks.

SH, over and out.

Horrible weather, horrible mood, horrible everything. Boooo.
It's here.

Monday, April 14, 2003

I am now the coolest person ever, thanks to my sister. She works at google, and since they own blogger now, she was able to swipe me a blogger t-shirt. It has the orange logo and blogger written under it. I feel so cool. I'm wearing it as i type. Kind of ironic, ain't it?

I tried to catch up on my prime time tonight, and watched the ending of Married by America....weird show. I watched the first episode with Jen, and watched the last one tonight with my mom. And what do you know, even though i missed everything in between, i still got the gist of the show, and that didn't make me want to watch it more. But apparently, the guy that won the ARE YOU HOT show is Kristin's teacher! Well, kinda. Kristin tutors for this class, and the class's teacher is the guy that won. How cool is that? And I saw a picture of him. He's a looker alright.

So today was my last day of work for the CS dept. Saturday was the last night of the musical. Friday my cool coworkers at MuirWoods surprised me with cake. It's all ending, and all so sad. Now i'm at home...blogging from OC. I have to say though, I've had a great quarter. I loved working at muirwoods: the people, the coworkers, the environment, the free coffee! It will be greatly missed.

And the musical. It was magical. For anyone who didn't see the show, you missed out on a GREAT show. And not just because i was in it. But it really was a good show. Wonderful group of people that i will probably not see again. The cast, they were all soo talented. And all the girls in the cast were all soooo cute. And they all had wonderful voices. And the orchestra, even though we had a slow start, I think we sounded really great by the time of the performances. And it's great when you have such a big orchestra....when you're making music with 30 other talented musicians to create this huge sound that fills the whole auditorium....that's what it's all about. It's sad to know that that was probably the last time i'll play my violin with a group...or anyone really...There was just so much talent contained in one show. Friday night was the best. The auditorium was jam packed, and we started 20 min late because there were about 20 pple who didn't have seats. And then i got to see so many of my friends there! And then E was sooo sweet to get me a blue rose, and cady got me some pink flowers. And i loved my stand partner...he is such a gentleman. What is up with me always having partners named Ken? But this guy is so cool. He got attacked by a really drunk cast member (hehe) at the party who wanted to kiss him, but he was such a gentleman about the whole thing. We need more guys like him. So, I can go on about how great the musical was...but i'll stop there.

i know i had more to blog about, but now i can't remember. I know i haven't blogged much because of the musical, but now that it's over, hopefully i will do it more. Also...the new webpage is almost done. Be expecting that sometime soon.

For now, i'm gonna go admire my blogger shirt, and read. And watch coldplay on conan later on tonight. Ah..........chris martin......droooool.............Damn that christine....i was the one that told her that he'll be on tonight, and she is still reluctant to share....damn her!!!!!!!

SH signing out.

Sunday, April 13, 2003

Ok, so i was just watching the 5th wheel, and one of the girls was saying how she's allergic to alcohol. And she's white! What are the chances??

So the musical is finally over. I definitely have to say that i'm glad i did it, and was part of such a great show, with such cool people. What a way to end college, right? I know i know, you're all thinking, "good god woman, you keep bitchin about leaving, but you're still here!" I think i complain about leaving too much. I'm all talk but no action. I can go on and on about the musical, but.....maybe i'll do it next time.

Wednesday, April 09, 2003

All this time spent working during the day and rehearsing til late at night has kept me out of touch with the world and it's ongoing events. But, i was able to catch up today to hear some good news. Although, whenever i hear any good news on tv or radio, i always wonder if it's really good news, or if the media is just trying to reassure the country. I'm sure there'll always be a good and bad to everything. I don't know what to think anymore.

Today has just been the most perfect weather ever. I call it, the Goldilock weather. Not too hot, not too breezy. It was just right, like baby bear.

So the musical is tomorrow, and after that, i'll be gone! I feel like I'm a tv series, like Dawson Creek's countdown to goodbye, only 5 more episodes until its over, or something like that. Except for me, its more like 5 days. But, you know, Life goes on, and so do we, just how we do it is no mystery.

Yada yadda.
Gonna go take a nap.

AAAAAAAARG.........

So, i stayed up really late tonight trying to record a song, working out all the details and everything, and finally it was done, and semi decent, and the program tells me i can't save it. all that work.....for nothing! and then it had to be daylight savings......i totally forgot that it was. So now its 4am in the morning....and my whole schedule will be thrown off tomorrow, and the week to come.
arg.

Friday, April 04, 2003

Ok ok.

After complaints from E, i'm back to blog. I don't have much of interest to blog about though....maybe thats why i haven't lately. I walked to school with a professor the other day. He asked me when the bus was coming, and after finding out that i was walking, decided to walk with me. We had a nice walk. I asked if he was a student. He said because i was so kind to ask him that question, he's going to buy me lunch....haha. (But not really)

Tomorrow ends the first of my last two weeks in SD. And yet, i haven't really done much other than work, work, and rehearsal. I was thinking of ending it with a bang, but now i think i'll just leave quietly....without anyone knowing. I'll tiptoe my way out.

So E, what happens when school ends? You have nothing to blog about, thats what! I've been in this semi annoyed mood lately, due to not getting what i want. I hate when i don't get what i want, or when things don't go my way. Then i start pouting and complaining. Living the single life is not so bad really. You have no one to answer to, you do what you want, when you want, and how you want it. You don't have to worry about this or that. Selfish i know, but then again, i'm a selfish bitch right?

I've started to realize lately that I'm really quite dorky. Ok ok, i know that you're thinking, why sh, you've always been dorky. True. And i already know that. BUT! I think i've become extra extra dorky over the years. I don't know what it is. But lately i've been getting these looks from people. Looks that say "are you fo real?" Or, just the sideways glance that says, "i can't believe i'm associated with you."
So, what is it, my jokes? They've always been cheesy corny...but maybe they're becoming more so.
I think this has to do with me being single. I've pretty much gotten used to living inside my head, and talking to myself. Of course i'm going to think my own jokes are funny. Cause if I were to give myself those looks that people give me, i'd go cross-eyed. And then theres that thing i do with thinking a certain thought in my head, and then blurting something out in the middle of my thought process, leaving people to wonder what the heck i'm talking about. And its not til i've confused everyone that i realize i have to start my stories from the beginning, and not the middle, because people can't hear what goes on inside my head. I've done this way too many times. Oy.

I've also been thinking, how come good looking people are never the nerds? Not to say that a nerd can't be good looking. There are tons of beautiful nerds out there. But good looking people are usually not the nerds.....why is that? Do people who are good looking have a cool gene? Are they born to be un-nerdy because they look good? If ALL nerds were good looking, would they still be nerds? Take Screech for instance...if you give him a bit of musle, flatten out his hair so that he has a blong surfer shag, unscrew his scrunched up face a bit, and put him in an armani suit, would he still be a nerd? If he was good looking, but still smart, and in the chess and math club, would the girls dig him? He'd still be screech, just better looking. I guess i'm asking, what makes a nerd a nerd. Appearance, or personality? Probably a bit of both. But what if you had the cool Zack Morris appearance with a nerdy personality.....are you a nerd? Are you?? I'm perplexed by this...

Over and out.

What the F#$*(&@!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dang nabit.......I can't sleep due to some crazy mofo winds outside that rattle my windows and roofs and walls and make me feel like i'm about to blow away at anytime. And now i'm cranky, cause these winds have been here since before 4am and i haven't been able to sleep since then. It really pisses me off, can you tell? I know, i've gone into whiny mode, but dang it....i really value my sleep. And yes, its spring break so technically i can sleep whenever i want, but its the principle!! THE PRINCIPLE!!!!!
I thought these santa anas already came and went?? Why did they come back? And why so fiercely?
AAAAAAAARGH!!!! F#*(_#)*(&%(#*$&U*_#$@*(#&*@!)*C(&#)(&*@!(K&*)@!#\!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok, back to working on my webpage. I feel like i've become a computer nerd working on this, but i'm really excited about it, and i haven't been excited about a project in a while, so just let me be excited ok?? And anyways, i don't know nearly enough about computers to even come close to being a computer nerd, so just back off.

K, now this wind has made me go into super defensive mode, leaving me to talk to and defend myself......le sigh......damn winds.
The normal SH will be back when these #@)(*$@)#$_*@#)*$@# winds leave.

Thank you, and have a nice day.

PEOPLE OF BLOGGER!

(or, at least those who read mine...)

I will be redesigning my webpage soon. It is time for change. Things to take out, things to add. If there's anything you'd like to see on my page, just let me know. But anyways, just look for that.

Last night i had a dream that i was in a room with JP, and Michael Jackson. I usually go star crazy, but for some reason, being in the same room as with the king of pop didn't faze me one bit. I think JP was going to interview him or something. But i wanted to wait around to see what kinds of ridiculous things JP would say once he came face to face with Michael. That would've been funny....hehe.

Ok, so yes, i'm done with my college career. I guess usually i would blog about it...i could blog about it...for pages and pages...but i won't. Not now. No energy for such things now.

In other news:
I just purchased 5 of the best cds ever, for cheap! Warehouse and target are great! Ben Folds, Gilberto Gil, Live, and the 2 Coldplay's. Ahhhhh..............i'm soooo happy. Those who know how i am with my cds will know how happy my purchases have made me. Whheeeeeeeeeee!

Saturday, March 22, 2003

oy...
i'm "trying" to pack up some of my stuff right now so that i won't have so much to take home in 3 weeks. it's not going so well. so much stuff. to keep or not to keep?

Friday, March 21, 2003

K, so here i was, thinking that i can get a head start on packing up some of my stuff before sunday. But i just don't know where to start. So i'll just blog some more. Who knew i could accumulate so many things?

So...i guess i have nothing to blog either. I guess i'll try the packing thing again. but...what a pain. K, i think my guitar's calling me again.

Thursday, March 20, 2003

I know I've blogged about this already, but, i hate not getting what i want. Or finding out i can't have something i really want. It makes me pout, and i go on and on about it. Sometimes i see something i want, and i'm like, i want that, that would be nice to have. But i get over it. Other times, i see something i want, or something that someone else has that i really want, but can't have, and for some reason it consumes me, i think about it for days and days, thinking of the great things i would and could do if i actually got what i want. I hate when i get into this 2nd level of "want." It's just really irritating for me, and i hate that i'm so driven towards having this "want" i can't have. Oy. Drives me nuts.

Wednesday, March 19, 2003

WAR! (huh!....hooha!) WHAT IS IT GOOD FOR?? Absolutely nothing, say it again!

Sigh. War.

In other news, i just turned in my last paper of my college career. Still have a final on friday, but...that one's a bit sketchy. Papers are hard. I don't see how missy does it. She just cranked out a paper this morning, and is off to write another one. She's like some sort of paper writing machine...you crank her arm, give it a good turn, and out comes a beautifully typed paper, stapled and everything. How do you do it missy!?!? And cady too! She was also a paper machine this quarter. It seemed like she had a paper to write every night. Damn papers.

Kristin doesn't think i can beat her at an eating contest. She doesn't even want to try it. I mean, yes, i know Kmori is an incredible eating machine (geez, are all my roommates machines??), that i don't doubt. I dare not. But, all i'm saying is that i should be given a chance to prove my abilities. I think, with the right type of food at the right time (hungry time that is), there may be a chance that i can become as great as Kmori. If we had the exact same amount of a kind of food, there might be a chance that i can beat her. That's been my excuse so far. Our food portions haven't been equal. Yea, she may go back for seconds and thirds, but how much does she put on her plate?? Possibly not as much as I? Possibly?? What should we eat though? Not ribs or hotdogs, those are out. If you have a suggestion, let me know. All i'm saying is: give SH a chance.

Seeing how i didn't get very much sleep last night due to paper writing, i should be taking a nap. But...i miss my guitar, and i think it misses me, and when....oh, there it goes. My guitar is calling me again. It's like we're on the same wave length, it knows when i'm thinking about it. So folks, until next time, peace out.

Tuesday, March 18, 2003

Hey!
What are you doing reading my blog! Shouldn't you be studying for finals?? Yea, i'm talking to you!

Don't wanna study anymore, you say? Well then get over here and write my paper for me!
I have 12 hours to write 7 more pages. To most people, thats plenty of time. To me, not nearly enough. SIgh.................
Will you write my paper for me puh-lease????!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks to garrett who reminded me of the hipness that i lack. He told me some 50cent songs to download, and frankly, i find them a bit boring and monotonous. I am soooo not cool.

In other news, meeting new people is fun! Today I met 2 new people, Sean at muirwoods, and Marcus at dinner, who were both pretty cool. Sean came in with this cool gourd with tea in it and was sipping out of a metal straw with a strainer at the end. It was the coolest thing i've ever seen. He said it was an argentina thing. I forgot what its called now, but if anyone knows what i'm talking about, please let me know, and also where to get one.

In other other news, i found out that Ali has a second cousin who resembles Natalie Portman, who is persian but lives in norway who just won Ms. Latin in Spain? I think he wants her, so i reminded him that more and more people are marrying even their first cousins now. Tee hee.

Sunday, March 16, 2003

ok, call me stupid, call me out of touch with whats hip with the youngsters these days, but just call me, and let me know who this fifty cent character is. what does he sing, and why is he so popular? and why 50 cents and not...I dunno..75?

and damn whats wrong with the ataris website? why does it always freeze my computer when i try to go there? it's done it like 5 times already. does it do that to anyone else?
no one is blogging, due to finals.

my paper is still going nowhere, thanks to monty who distracted me all day. but i guess its my fault for trying to type when he's right there in front of me. silly me...

Saturday, March 15, 2003

Starbucks has a table in front of their huge window which provides instant access to the world outside. Today I sat there watching the people scurry hither and thither under the downpour like little mice. Windows are cool.

I think i blogged about regrets once, and i can't remember if i said i had any or not. But i do have one now that my college career is over, and that is not taking violin lessons. I went to Paiviki, Janos' wife, to get my violin adjusted, and she is the nicest woman ever. And i sat there talking to her, wondering why i didn't take lessons with her, or even janos, sooner. And now i can't anymore, and it really pisses me off because i missed the opportunity. Arg...

Once again, it is paper writing time. You know what that means? That means i'll be bloggin alot instead of writing my paper. Hahaha. It's funny cause its twuuueeee.

In other news, my roommate kristin tried to poison me last night. Some roommate.

Thursday, March 13, 2003

i am nervous about tomorrow night.
but by this time tomorrow night, it'll all be over. forever. good thing or bad?
Sometimes you just get to this point where the every day things around you have little importance. Like, the coffee we drink, or worrying about grades, or the people that won't walk faster across the street you want to cross. You stop and you think that there's so much more going on in the world, in the realm of nature and its complexities. So many things that go on that you don't know about, and will never know about. Events occuring around the world (and i'm not talking about the impending war) that can't be understood. Spirituality. Pi (and i'm not talking about the apple kind, but the kind that goes on forever and ever). Formation of languages. Thoughts going on in the minds of geniuses that we will never be able to grasp. Moments of love so intense thats going on right this second all the way across the world. Or maybe even next door. And i'm not talking about sex. I'm talking about passion, truth, desires for the other person....love in the traditional sense. Love that you can't possibly imagine because you've never really experienced it, even if you've had 10 girlfriends, or even if you're married. You stop and think about these things, and all of a sudden, other things don't seem so important anymore.
Let the ringing begin!

I went to a bar with jen tonight (i know, sunday night!! can i be cool now, puh lease??) to watch this band. And now my ears are ringing. Last time it didn't stop for three days. We'll see how long it'll go for this time. Chris, the guitarist, was amazing. He rocks out like a true guitarist....like a bad mofo. We have a class together, and he told me he's taken classes with Jason 3 times. 3 times!! I thought I loved jason, but this guy really really loves Jason! And maya, one of the singers ...such a pretty voice!
Le sigh....i wanna be a band whore, dammit!

I had a dream last night. It was my birthday, and sara surprised me all the way from OC with...Will Ferrell! Random, i know, but isn't that the way dreams go? But that wasn't the best part. After Will appeared behind sara, he was really excited, cause right then, Martin Scorcese appeared from behind Will! And as if Will knew i was going to say this, we both said in unison, "Oh my god it's Martin Scorcese!!" I was screaming like a little girl. And marty said his hellos and wished me a happy bday. It turns out sara had them for the day (for whatever reason, i don't know) and asked if they could come wish me happy bday in san diego. And ol marty had some business down here anyways so he came. But then he had to leave right away. I wanted him to stay til the next day so i could take him to class and show JP that marty and i were old buds. But he had to leave. I think it was to see JP anyways.
Yeah..random dream.

I think thats it. Other than,
taka taka taka taka taka taka takaaaaaaaaaaa

Wahaha.....

The blog queen that i am, i got the final roommate to join the blogwagon. Whoooo! You can now go inside Missy's brain right here. Haha, gotcha there. Go here. Or just look for her link to your lower left. No, the other left. Right.

Thursday, March 06, 2003

Yes E, blogs discussing other blogs are fun.
What's not fun is when you go visit a blog that has not been updated in the past day or two...ahem.

Right now i have no desire to do anything. Nothing at all when really, there is so much to be done. I'm just going through my music collection and just listening. Right now it's Coldplay. Ah...so soothing. I just want to go veg on my bed and be surrounded by chris martin crooning me to sleep. Ah.....

How did i get so good at doing nothing?
I want to be a band whore.

I really do. Fox should come out with a show called "I want to be a band whore." People would watch that. I would try to go on that. Fox has done everything, why haven't they done this?? It'd be like american idol.......but better. With more talent. not to say that people on american idol don't have talent...dot dot dot...
Although i don't know if they can use the word "whore" on tv. But then again, we ARE talking about Fox, so nevermind.

JP totally embarrassed me today in class cause my cell phone went off. He asked to speak to the caller, and when i said i already hung up, he told me to call them back. It turned out to be Jen, but i thought it was son, so he ended up calling Son back, but he didn't pick up, which was a good thing. Although i wonder what JP would have said. I was really worried that he would make the caller cry. Oh that jp is so funny. Silly mongoose.

hahaha.....i just had a conversation with christine regarding blogs:

me: i on the other hand.......like to exhibit my lameassness
me: so everyone else can feel like they're normal compared to me
me: so really, i'm doing this for the good of the people
her: how altruistic of you
me: i know i know....i'm too much

see what i do for you people? see??

over and out.

Wheel!......................Of!.......................FORTUNE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wheel of Fortune is gonna be at our school tomorrow. Alot of things like this come to our school, and i've never really had an urge to be a part of it.....UNTIL NOW! It's wheel of fortune! Pat and Vanna!! I totally want to be a contestant and win some money, especially since i'll be unemployed in the future. Wahhhh. But I mean, all i'd have to do is guess some letters, buy some vowels, spin a wheel, clap my hands and say "big money, big money!!" right? That would be great.

The problem with that is i might be missing jason's class. And since i always sit in the front, he might know that i'm not there. I won't get to hear him sing his songs. I won't get to see him in his oversized sports jacket that makes him look like a little kid wearing his dad's clothes....hehe. And it'd be too unsettling to miss class, especially his class. And especially when we'll find out who won Carnival tomorrow. But i guess i can look that up myself. Maybe i can go have a chat with him during office hours. Explain to him that i missed class for a chance at fame and FORTUNE! Yes. He just might go for it...
dear internet void. stop.

jen's a trooper.

she's giving up coffee for lent...for the both of us. :-)

in other news: i think i'm addicted to movies. or rather, dvds. or rather, the thought of buying dvds. hehe....these are the things that go on in my head. i think of all the wonderful dvds i can buy when i have all the money in the world. i mean, not only would they be great movies, they'd be great movies that i'll have in my possession! well, the ones in my collection will be great at least. my theory is that by possessing great movies in my collection, somehow i can be part of that greatness too. or at least experience it over and over again.

there are too many good movies out there. and too many that i haven't seen. too many i don't understand. too many i love. what is it with movies? we can get into a whole conversation about this....but i'm tired of typing.

stop.

Many things to blog about, but i don't know if i'll blog them all.

First of all, I still have a slight ringing in my ear. More than 24 hours later! Is this normal?

Second, I saw the most beautiful film today called Central Station. It sucks that i had to watch it in the library, trying to hide myself at my little viewing station cause i was sitting across from some random guy i didn't know, getting all teary. But you guys definitely have to see this movie. This and Cinema Paradiso. Mmmm....both just wonderful.

Third, while at the trio concert tonight, i was thinking how cool it would be to play well, or even play the cello... or better yet, play the cello well, like yoyo ma! (no, not yo mama, yoyo ma!) Christine and i had a conversation about performing, and how frightening it is. And all of it just drives me further away from being Gwen Stefani. But then again, being in a band, you are playing with other people, so you're not completely by yourself, which wouldn't be so bad right?

Fourth, i had a really unsatisfying breakfast burrito at El Cotixan's, which seemed like the happening place to be last night. Not that it wasn't good, it just wasn't what i was expecting. So, just a forewarning for anyone out there who might consider ordering a breakfast burrito at El Coti: think about it. Hard.
However, to counteract that bad experience, i had some really good korean food tonight with christine over stimulating and interesting conversation, so i guess that makes up for the disappointing burrito.

Fifth, i hate not getting what i want. And yes, i feel like i'm reverting back to my elementary school days when i would whine and complain about such things, but, wouldn't you agree? Not getting what you want just really sucks. But i'm not talking about the materials things in life (even though i want those too), but i'm talking about other things you can't help or have no control of. And i realize, yea, sometimes theres just not much you can do about things beyond your control, but dammit, it still sucks nonetheless. And when i say this, i'm referring to so many things...

Sixth, i'm on the search for a record player. {{wicky wicky}} not necessarily a turning table (i've given up on that for the moment due to lack of space), but just a record player to play records on. if anyone knows where i can get one for cheap, or have one you'd like to get rid of, please contact me immediately.

Seventh, i'd like to give a shoutout to ken, who probably doesn't read my blogs anyways (but then again, who does!), for reminding me that i have a copy of cool edit pro. ah.......theres so much more i can do now. much love yo.

Eighth, its 9th week.....oh how the weeks are dwindling down.

Tenth: i really have no tenth, i just want to make this an even 10 list.

Over and out.
